About this listen

There is a huge, bold black streak in the sky. Branches appear out of nowhere over North America, Southern Europe, and Central Africa. People who live beneath The Rift can see it. But scientists worldwide are distressed - their equipment cannot pick up any type of signal from it. The rift appears to consist of nothing. Literally. Nothing. Nada. Niente. Most people are curious but not overly concerned. The phenomenon seems to pose no danger. It is just there.

Then something jolts the most hardened naysayers, and surpasses the worst nightmares of the world's greatest scientists - and rocks their understanding of the universe.

Great performance, good story.

The Rift was a story about a giant crack in the universe. The story follows 3 separate people throughout the few weeks. However, the story falls flat at the end I find. I believe that 90% of the story was actually useless to the plot itself, and served no purpose other than to fill the book, because it did not matter what happened in the end.

There was also no tension, no fear of the unknown like if a character was going to survive or not. However, the book itself was not bad. It was an interesting read and I dont regret reading it.

The performance was amazing and perfect. The characters fit well and I dont see any issues with it.

Too much useless information.

Do we really need to know the details of someones urine flow when sitting on the toilet or the order in which they put their clothes on when they dress??? This ok story had so much useless infill it could have been a short story. Some human voices sounded more robotic than the AI.

Another Dimension in the Science Fiction Universe

I found this novel absorbing. The narration was good. The scientific information was fascinating, if a little difficult to comprehend. It even had some romance! Good character development with a number of protagonists.
