About this listen
An accessible, heart-melting romance that also tackles serious issues for teen girls today, from the author of Playing the Player.
Romance book blogger Vivian Galdi is a girl on a mission: the Replacement Crush Mission. After Jake the Snake pretends their secret summer kissing sessions never happened, Vivian creates a list of safe crush targets, determined to avoid anyone who pings her zing meter. But nerd-hot Dallas, the new guy in town, sends the mission and Vivian’s zing meter into chaos. While designing software for the bookstore where Vivian works, Dallas wages a counter mission, analyzing his target and taking advantage of the tactical errors in her strategy.
Does Dallas just like a good game of Replacement Crush Battlefield, or is he on his own mission to prove to Vivian that true love can’t be strategized? And how much collateral damage can they both sustain during the heat of battle?

Read this if you like mushy romances
Dude, this main character just obsesses over her love life. To quote Viv’s mother- boys shouldn’t be a necessity. Still an interesting read- not quite Gogo boots tho 😂 Maybe birks.

Amazing high school romance, PG but saucy where it counts
(Tiny spoiler ahead) Such a good book for a lighter hearted romcom. I wondered a couple times if viv had schizophrenia the amount of times she heard spocks voice, and also wondered why she questioned if he liked her when he straight out said it at one point. But other than that there wasn’t any loose ends and so much potential for spin offs. Wasn’t too cheesy because of the protagonists sarcasm but still enough romance to keep you waiting for the next time they meet. Also loved that it was like bookception how she read and reviewed romances haha.

Gogo boots!
Well performed and very entertaining. Would have enjoyed it more if some of the loose ends were tied up at the end. I would still recommend it.

Cringe
I finished it but it was hard. Her second book to this with Amy and Toph is way better. I’m not sure if it was the narrator that killed this or it was just a very average book. The narrator killed the voice of Dallas and made everything very cringe worthy.
But others seem to like it so I could be wrong
