About this listen

It was a perfect time, a cooling down period in one of many of Earth’s many cycles. Soft plains of rolling grass lands and towering mountains. It would be five hundred thousand years before man rose from the muck and walked on it.

It was then a space faring race called the Tim discovered Earth and named it Dora. A colony was built here and it was part of the Tim federation of Planets. The federation was still young and growing. Only a thousand years had passed since War lords were fighting on the planet Matave over who would control a Gene.

A Gene flowed through the Tim and was a special part of their history, civilization, and religion. It let them store and save information in a different way than modern day humans. The Gene led Tim into the stars in just a thousand years, colonizing over a hundred planets across the Milky Way Galaxy.

Twenty years after Dora was colonized, it fell victim to the wimps of the Galaxy. The colony was deleted off the face of the planet. Leaving behind the most important thing one race could give another. The Quotis Gene has survived in our environment and it’s in the human gene pool. It is in every human on the planet Earth. Scientist called it junk DNA, a recessive Gene used in early mankind. They are right, but they are very wrong. Now modern man will use it. In a billion to one chance, two compatible genes have connected to form the first Quotis on Earth. Like the Tim before them, it will give them the stars.

The story begins in the doors of a Chicago hospital where Willow Morgan bumps into Adam Stark. In that billion in one moment, two compatible Quotis genes have found each other. Two complete strangers from two completely different worlds, have unknowingly come together to form the first Quotis on Earth.

Willow Morgan a focused brilliant Nebraska farm girl is working on her PHD at the University of Chicago. Her whole life has been centered on being accepted to the Astronaut training program. Adam Stark has a computer backup service that he started in high school. His life has been centered on going out drinking with his buddy Bob and playing darts. Neither of them is ready for what the wimps of the universe has in store for them.

It is something neither of them wants, but the Gene has its own agenda. Fate leads them to the streets of Chicago where they meet Jacob Norris. He is passed out from a three-day drunk. His afternoon plans include putting a bullet in his head. He is a 26-year-old black Army Officer, struggling with the demons of war. The face of his best friend dying in his arms won’t go away. He sees blowing his brains out as the only way to get rid of his face. Until he meets Willow and Adam in the park. He carries the Quotis gene.

Sarah, 22, is a struggling divorced mother of one. Works as a waitress at a truck stop, goes to Chicago to claim a 4,000-dollar prize for solving an unsolvable puzzle. When she gets there, she claims much more than the 4,000-dollar prize money. She carries the Quotis gene.

Aaron, 21, sits in Nashville in a hospital for the mentally disabled. He was in an automobile accident that killed his parents. His body has healed many years ago. But his mind has been gone from the world for 10 years. A miracle suddenly happens. He wakes up when Adam and Sarah pay him a visit. He is a ten-year-old boy in a 21-year old man’s body. He carries the Quotis gene in him.

These are the people who will make up the Quotis. They will make you laugh and cry. They will show you how inventive people can be when they put their heads together.
