About this listen

Suspense. Secrets. Suspicion. Scandal. Storytelling that will keep you guessing until the very end. The Prisoner is the nerve-shredding new novel from the author of global best seller Behind Closed Doors.

A relationship can hold many secrets....

She wakes up in a pitch-black room, not knowing where she is. Why has she been taken? Who can she hear talking? And why does she soon feel safer here, imprisoned, than she had begun to feel with her husband, Jed?

Amelie has always been a survivor, from losing her parents as a child in Paris to making it on her own in London. Then she meets Carolyn and is soon swept up in a glamorous London lifestyle. Until it starts to go wrong....

In true B.A. Paris style, The Prisoner is a gripping survival story, a twisted love story and at its dark heart a thriller to keep you up all night.

Okay Story. Not One of B A Paris’s Strongest

A kidnapping drama where the a wealthy couple are both taken.

Then, the wife develops Stockholm Syndrome and would rather stay with her kidnappers than her abusive POS, husband.

In the second half, the twists begin when the wife goes in search of the kidnappers after the deaths of several key characters.

Not a bad story but the plot had a LOT of holes

This family foundation that had to be protected at all coasts seems a bit dramatic.

Also, the female lead was incredibly annoying.

Okay

Not the authors best work, previous books are much better. Narrator sounds too young, a more mature sounding narrator would have been better.
