About this listen
New adventures in the Infinite Realm!
Zach and Ryun had both reached the Infinite Realm. As the only two survivors of the old Earth, they are the strongest Rankers that had ever arrived in the Infinite Realm. Both dropped outside of the usual arrival zone and left to fend for themselves. Each had found a way to survive. Ryun is now a Sect Head, tasked with ruling territories and people. Accepting their service in return for his protection. But while he was the strongest being on Earth, he is nothing compared to the old monsters living in the Infinite Realm. Will he be able to advance far and fast enough to catch up and protect the things and a few people that he had started to care for?
Zach had joined the Wardens, a faction that serves as a law enforcement for hire, seeing in them his best chance at learning more about the Infinite Realm and figuring out the best way to proceed. And perhaps eventually to find the monster that had taken everything from him.

so much STAT reading but great story.
I enjoyed the majority but excessively long iteration of stats and perks needed shortening to make it more listenable.

Good
I liked this book a lot, however the second arc in the ethereal realm with Zach was really bad. Sure it gave interesting information and cool fights but it felt like the entire point of it was give Zach the hand outs he needs to catch up to Ryun. I mean seriously, having a once in a life time contract being available the moment they enter the city, and only Zach can complete it… then the stuff the Yeti pretty much handing him a unique power weapon with broken abilities. I really wanted to like Zach, and I even liked the murder mystery / romance arc… however it feels like after that the author needed a second arc to pad out the book whilst bending back over itself to give Zach the tools he needs in the tournament arc. I liked the first two thirds of the book but the final arc in the ethereal realm was bad… I can’t wait to listen to the next one, I hope that this is a one time thing, and the next book is better.

Looked at the ebook to skip the stats
The series so far is great. I like the jumping between past and present but it has lessened in this book.
I found looking at the kindle book to see how close the end of the chapter was, so I could skip it.
Ryun and Zack are stand out characters, two sides of the same coin (for most part). Loving how it they have grown from the first novel. The secondary characters sub-plots are on point too.

Needs an editor.
Refunded the book after 5 hours listening. The book has a large focus on Zach, who is a poorly written character with poor motivations/logic and it was a chore to get through his chapters that focus on him in book 1, let alone 70% of the chapters in book 2 ( I looked at the chapter headings).
It's your standard world building LRPG that hasnt been edited to cut all the excess/fat that is found in a lot of these novels.
It also has identity politics, one background character uses they/them and completely breaks the fourth wall or flow of the story, again an editor would solve these issues.

unfortunately hard to get through
the mc story is fantastic, I can't get enough
this book is heavily following Zach though.
Zach should have known Linda was traumatised, ignored her, instead he screwed over his best mate for a girl and now follows him around like a loser. he should have just been killed off, every chapter that starts with Zach is painful, he sucks and so do all of his garbage companions

meh to level ups
enjoyed the story line
but the level ups are going for over an hour chapter 35 it's 7 mins of the same repetitive speech explaining each perk and level. to be told all again when the character levels again the next time

Ryun good, Zach bad. Author had to bring in politics.
Promising first book but it keeps focusing on Zach, a terribbly written character. I wish the whole book was Ryun. The author also decided to start pushing irrelevant politics which was completely out of place. Maybe the system gave everyone brain damage too?
