About this listen
Charlaine Harris, the number one New York Times best-selling author of the Sookie Stackhouse novels and the Harper Connelly Mysteries, and New York Times best-selling author Christopher Golden present The Pretenders GraphicAudio Production - first in a brand-new trilogy.
She calls herself Calexa Rose Dunhill - names taken from the grim surroundings where she awoke, bruised and bloody, with no memory of who she is, how she got there, or who left her for dead.
She has made the cemetery her home, living in a crypt and avoiding human contact. But Calexa can’t hide from the dead - and because she can see spirits, they can’t hide from her.
Then one night, Calexa spies a group of teenagers vandalizing a grave - and watches in horror as they commit murder. As the victim’s spirit rises from her body, it flows into Calexa, overwhelming her mind with visions and memories not her own.
Now Calexa must make a decision: continue to hide to protect herself - or come forward to bring justice to the sad spirit who has reached out to her for help....

I think the dramatisation isn’t for me
Well made! But I think it lost some depth that you would get from a book left book format. Glad I gave it a go tho
The story was interesting enough but I’d have loved to have been able to bike on the characters a bit more
Give it a go if you’re unsure

Excellent
A truly remarkable story. I would’ve preferred one long story, but I’m looking forward to series 2. I can only say I got drawn into all the characters and look forward to reading more.

Highly Recommend
Fantastic story as usual when Charlaine Harris is involved. I have never listened to a dramatised adaption before but I was pleasantly surprised. The production was brilliant! Great acting , unbelievable sound effects and the surround sound was the best I have heard. It gave it an amazing atmosphere. I can’t wait to listen to the second book.
