Publisher's Summary
‘No regrets.’ You’ve heard people proclaim it as a philosophy of life. That’s nonsense, even dangerous, says Daniel H. Pink in his latest bold and inspiring work. Everybody has regrets. They’re a fundamental part of our lives. And if we reckon with them in fresh and imaginative ways, we can enlist our regrets to make smarter decisions, perform better at work and school, and deepen our sense of meaning and purpose.
In The Power of Regret, Pink draws on research in psychology, neuroscience, economics and biology to challenge widely-held assumptions about emotions and behaviour. Using the largest sampling of attitudes about regret ever conducted from his own World Regret Survey–which has collected regrets from more than 16,000 people in 105 countries–he identifies the four core regrets that most people have. These four regrets, Pink argues, operate as a ‘photographic negative’ of the good life. By understanding what people regret the most, we can understand what they value the most. And by following the simple, science-based, three-step process that he sets out, we can transform our regrets in a positive force for working smarter and living better.
With Pink’s signature blend of big ideas and practical takeaways, captivating stories and crisp humour, The Power of Regret offers an urgent and indispensable guide for a life well-lived.

Life changing read. Highly recommend
I think differently from this book. Great insights. Well researched with ideas to fill out from a very solid and logical foundation. I like that Pink draws on life experiences from across the world and clearly articulates the evidence base that he’s drawing on.

Thought-provoking, refreshing and much needed for contemporary society in a glossy world of social media facades. Congratulations Daniel on your research, interpretation and findings, and sharing your insights with us in this excellent book.

Food For Thought
Whilst Dan H Pink was narrating, I certainly went down my list of the type/s of regret he was discussing. I've never seen a book written about regret before so it certainly was fascinating. I'd enjoyed Dan's Ted Talk on YouTube, and Dan Gilbert's Ted Talk too so when he mentioned Dan Gilbert I knew who he was talking about. It was because I had seen Dan Pinks Ted Talk that I bought the book which, like his Ted Talk, was thoroughly fascinating and educational. 👍 🙂

Fascinating Research & Findings
I was listened this this audio book by Daniel H. Pink as I was so fascinated around this topic. Thanks to the groundbreaking research & findings I have learnt so much, and so many questions I had in my quest for learning about humanity has definitely been answered. If you are a curious person at heart like me and love learning, definitely add this book to your Audible Wish List. You'll regret not reading this book! (probably)
A thought provoking book on what is a concept we ignore and paint over easily. nit only do I have a deeper understanding of regret but I understand now how to make better choices which lead to less regret...irrespective of the outcome. I do not regret having this as my monthly book or spending the time on it (see what I did there 😉). If you like to be challenged, and think beyond thebsurface, you probably won't regret it either.
