About this listen

'PS: thanks for the murders.'

The death of a 90-year-old woman with a heart condition should absolutely not be suspicious. DS Harbinder Kaur certainly sees nothing to concern her in carer Natalka's account of Peggy Smith's death.

But when Natalka reveals that Peggy lied about her heart condition and that she had been sure someone was following her...and that Peggy Smith had been a 'murder consultant' who plotted deaths for authors and knew more about murder than anyone has any right to...and when clearing out Peggy's flat ends in Natalka being held at gunpoint by a masked figure...well then DS Harbinder Kaur thinks that maybe there is no such thing as an unsuspicious death after all.

From the sleepy seaside town of Shoreham, to the granite streets of Edinburgh and the shores of Lake Baikal, The Postscript Murders is a literary mystery for fans of Antony Horowitz, Agatha Christie and anyone who's ever wondered just how authors think up such realistic crimes....

PS: trust no one.

Not what I was expecting

Didn’t get thru this. I loved the idea of an old lady who watched people coming and going and recording stuff. But she’s killed off rather than investigating. I wasn’t really that excited about the team who did the investigation. I enjoyed the detective in the first book but I get sick of her here. She was overwritten to be such a ‘character’ but I didn’t really get it. The voice actor was very good for the detective but not so good for the other characters. The first book had two people reading the different characters which was much better.

Another treasure from Elly Griffiths

I loved this mystery too, anything else Elly Griffiths writes about Harbinder will be anticipated greatly by me. A good assortment of quirky characters who don’t really seem to belong together, and a few twists and turns as each chapter ends in true Elly Griffiths style. A treat.

Next one please....

This was a bit of a slow burn for me but I got into it by chapter 5. I now can't wait for more Harbinder. Also loved The Stranger Diaries

Great characters & narrator, plot a bit frazzled

Compared to other Elly Griffiths mysteries, this one had more of an ensemble cast of characters, telling the story through multiple points of view (3-5 compared to the usual 1-2). While I enjoyed getting to know the characters better this way, I feel that it ended up leaving less time/words for the plot to be fully realised and so the ending left me unsatisfied. Lots of lucky timings with the forensic evidence and unravelling of extremely cryptic clues made for a forced/rushed conclusion of both the main plot and side plots. Narrator was fantastic.

Another winner from Elly Griffiths

This is actually book 2 in the series and I really enjoyed the continuation of Harbinder Kaur’s story. There are also a great new set of characters introduced - hopefully they will make a return appearance at some stage.

l was looking forward to a new story line from Ellie Griffiths but how disappointing.

I was unable to read more than 2 Chapters.

Nothing worked for me at all.
