About this listen
When a letter arrives at Tradmouth police station addressed to a DCI Norbert it causes quite a stir. For though DCI Norbert has long since moved on, the letter claims to have evidence that the man convicted of murdering the Rev. Shipbourne, Vicar of Belsham, during a robbery in 1991 is innocent.
Despite having a full caseload, DI Wesley Peterson is forced to at least follow up on the claims. Meanwhile, archaeologist Neil Watson is excavating a site in Pest Field. He discovers a mass grave that leads him to conclude that the site is one of an ancient medieval plague pit. But, more disturbing, is the discovery that the grave is home to a more recent resident....

Hidden Gems
The Wesley Peterson Series is a cache of hidden gems. I’m so glad to have discovered them on Audible. Each one gets better and better. A skilful and balanced mix of interesting plot lines, with connections to history, and characters whose lives you can really get interested in. They are engrossing while being comfortably long, I love a story that gives me the value of over ten cosy hours of entertainment without any slow bits. They will also make great re listens, because of their complexity, and I can see me starting over from the beginning once I have gone through them all. Can’t recommend them too much, but start from the beginning.
