It is 1837, and for the luxuriantly bearded Pirate Captain and his rag-tag pirate crew, life on the high seas has gotten a little dull. With nothing to do but twiddle their hooks and lounge aimlessly on tropical beaches, the Captain decides it's time they had an adventure.

A roaring adventure on the high seas!
I saw the animated film long before I ever listened to this book and I've gotta say they certainly changed things around for the film. For example they made Mr. Bobo the main centrepiece for the science fair and they made the Bishop the main villain in the story. I thought it was an interesting twist. The narrator does such a great job with the voices, particularly the Pirate Captain. I recommend this audiobook to anyone who enjoyed the film.
