"الإسلاموفوبيا: هي نزعة الكراهية للإسلام، والتخويف منه، انطلاقًا من تزييف حقائقه الكبرى وصورته الأصلية والأصيلة، وظاهرة الإسلاموفوبيا، هي ظاهرة غربية، نشأت ونمت وتعاظمت في إطار الحضارة الغربية، وليس في إطار أية حضارة أخرى من الحضارات الإنسانية، أي أنها قد عبّرت عن موقف الغرب الحضاري من الشرق الإسلامي إبان صراع الغرب لاحتواء الشرق والهيمنة عليه ونهب ثرواته وتحويله إلى تابع للمركزية الحضارية الغربية، ولأن هذه الظاهرة قد نشأت وتبلورت ونمت وتطورت تعبيرًا عن عداء الغرب الحضاري للشرق الحضاري؛ فإن لها جذورًا تاريخية سابقة على ظهور الإسلام."

يحلل المفكر الإسلامي الكبير محمد عمارة ظاهر الإسلاموفوبيا، من الجذور. يتطرق إلى العلاقة بين الشرق والغرب، وأسباب تصاعد تلك الظاهرة في الفكر والإعلام.
