About this listen
Some say it's better to live as a villain, than to die as a hero. But why choose when you can go back in time and try out each option?
Ryan "Quicksave" Romano has begun a new time-loop. His goal? To prevent New Rome's destruction at the hands of the vicious Meta-Gang. To do so, our favorite courier must explore both sides of the law: to become a corporate superhero in one loop, and a scenery-chewing supervillain in the next!
But not is all as it seems. What is this heavy secret that the Dynamis corporation keeps hidden from him? Who is this person who seems to remember events from the previous loop? And most importantly, where did his cashmere suit go?

So much fun!
I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I’m obsessed with the world and the humour.

A fantastic continuation.
I started this series skeptical but ended up beyond pleasantly surprised.
The main character Ryan is likeable and hilarious, with a plethora of pop culture knowledge to reference whenever he pleases. The power system is creative, fun and still being expanded on. The pacing of the story is great, time travel concepts done well and the emotional backlash of time looping on the MC feels real and gritty.
The narrator Eric gave a fantastic performance and captured Ryan's character perfectly, bloody well done.
If you enjoyed the first book then I promise you won't be disappointed, and if you haven't already read it go do it now.

Must Read Series.
The first book was good. This book is even better - easily in my top 5 books of all time.
tldr:
If you enjoyed the first book, get this one. If you were on the ledge with the first book, this one is better written, has more purpose, more closure, is a little less silly and expands the MC's backstory. It's still time loop fiction though - you've got to like that style of story to like this.
Longer, Spoiler Free Review:
This is the second instalment in the Perfect Run trilogy, though as this is a Royal Road story (meaning it was originally written as a weekly serial) it's more a continuation of one larger story then a second book with a second set of problems.
We are still in the same town, aiming for the same goals, but the hero progresses in interesting directions and we learn a lot more about the people inhabiting New Rome. And a lot more about the hero himself!
To my surprise, some of my favourite chapters delved into Ryan's backstory - something I usually hate in other books, but absolutely loved in this one, because the things that we learn become extremely relevant to the present situation. This is well written fiction, with an author who knows exactly where his characters are going.
The MC Ryan gets a little less silly in this tale than the first book too. Not that there aren't shenanigans, but the situation is becoming more serious and he's starting to take it that way too. As a reader I enjoyed this, because there's only so much I can take before it starts to break me out of the tale. The runs are longer, with fewer resets, and there's a couple of big twists too.
The ending is better done than the first book as well. In the first book I felt like the story was chopped at a randomly determined place based on story length. Here, while the story clearly continues into book 3, we get a feeling that the questions that we were trying to answer are resolved, and there's a nice feeling of closure to the final run.
This is a deeply satisfying book to read. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and in a rare statement for me, this is a book that I would actively want to read again and again.
6/5 highly recommended.

Why are you reading reviews on a sequel, you already listened to the first one.
Just gonna say I finished this book in a weekend, 100% worth the listen and again this is a sequel so you already know how good it is.
