About this listen
She takes the same train every day. But this is a journey she’ll never forget. The Passenger is a stunning psychological thriller with a nerve-shredding climax. Perfect for fans of Mark Edwards, K.L. Slater and Miranda Rijks.
Amanda is a hardworking single mum, completely focused on her job and her daughter, Louise. She’s been saving for years, and now, finally, she can afford to give up work and chase her dream. But then, on her commute home from London to Brighton, she meets a charming stranger - who seems to know everything about her. He delivers an ultimatum. She needs to give him the code for the safe where she keeps her savings before the train reaches Brighton - or she’ll never see Louise again. Convinced that the threat is real, Amanda is stunned, horrified. She knows she should give him the code, but she can’t. Because she also knows there is a terrible secret in that safe which will destroy her life and Louise’s, too....

Awful Characters Interesting, if at times Annoying Plot
What a bunch of horrible characters .
All a pack of self serving, greedy, obnoxious
a-holes
A mother ( Amanda ) determined to hold on to her considerable saving got her dream
If a writing career
Even if this means putting her daughter through an ordeal.
And what a prize of a daughter Louise is.
Spills her guts to her secret BF putting her & her mothers life in danger.
The ( train ) Stranger… poor sod.
Bit of more than he could chew with this selfish, greedy mother& daughter.
And the B F young James who thought he bound out with them all…
Oh well.
All awful, awful people.
But it’s Amanda, who we are probably supposed to sympathise with and be rooting for, is the most despicable.
Doesn’t help that the performer comes across smug at times

Absolutely Fantastic
I loved listening to this book! The characters were all fascinatingly flawed but at the same time just ordinary people trying to make their way in life. What a great plot the author has woven. I couldn’t stop listening to this enjoyable story. Thank you Daniel Hurst this is the first of your books I’ve come across but it won’t be the last I listen to.

great story teller
kept engaged right till the end. Great weaving of each characters role within the story. Suprising way Author was able to get into each character.

Poor writing spoilt the story.
I didn't mind the story or characters. But the method the author uses to tell the story started really grating on my nerves. It felt like as the reader I was being explained to rather than being immersed in the story if that makes sense. The sentences were also very formulaic and repeated the same formula over and over again. Feeling like I was being explained to was probably the worst and I won't be reading any more from this author.

Give it a miss 😔
This book was difficult to listen to, the narrator sounded like she was reading a story on Playschool. The story was unbelievable and the last chapter was trite and unnecessary. Disappointing.

Not very entertaining…
I have enjoyed the authors other books far more. The story line was a tad slow, unbelievable and yet predictable. The ending in particular. Sorry.
