When the Marquis of Amberley's coach is waylaid by highwaymen and his coachman shot, he is forced to take shelter at the first house he finds and is subsequently trapped there for a week by a severe snowstorm.
Oakleigh Manor is the home of Rosalind Vernon who lives alone but for her devoted servants and an ill-natured parrot, cut off from the outside world by the tragic result of a childhood accident. Delightful regency romance (clean/traditional)
Quite a few shades of the great Miss Heyer can be found here, but in a manner of homage rather than the blatantly annoying copying usually found.
Humorous and entertaining, with villains an heroes aplenty!
I look forward to more work from Stella Riley.

Well Done
A very good attempt at difficult subject that sadly little is written about. A very enjoyable story of love and the tangles of a Georgian Romance.
The main female character ends up being blind. It really was not difficult to put two and two together and work out what had happened to her.
But a good fun, and interesting way of working around her life and difficulties.
Well done for handling this quite well.
A good read in the Georgette Heyer type of writing

Sweet read
This was an enjoyable read, A main character who is blind isn't one I've come across before and this made it interesting. Nice clean romance, was a little short. I could listen to any book narrated by Alex Wyndam.
