About this listen
A new novel set in the universe of The Empire's Corps! When Sameena's brother accidentally annoys a religious leader on her homeworld, her entire family is targeted for elimination. Forced to flee to save her life, Sameena stows away on a trader starship and is eventually welcomed into the crew, embracing their very different culture and making a new life for herself amongst the stars. But the Galactic Empire is starting the final descent into chaos and her new home is on the verge of collapse, while secretive forces are maneuvering to take advantage of the Empire's collapse. If Sameena cannot find a way to keep some small part of civilisation intact, the galaxy will crash into a new dark age that will last far longer than a thousand years.

My Queen
This series has surprised me with the deep exploration into other peoples stories of how they managed the fall of the empire . It would have been so easy to limit the story of the trading queen and her empire to just a chapter but a whole book on it really did justice . As much as a lot of evil is out there . It has to make sense that not everyone is out there trying to build up empires of evil . Can’t wait for the next book :)

Not as engaging as the previous 4, even the 3rd.
Not bad but also not gripping like the last lot. I actually quite enjoyed "when the bough breaks" as a nice side story but I found this one a bit of a chore to get through. Pacing felt a bit off, a bit rushed like this was more cliff notes on what happened to sabina (haven't actually seen her name written) and that there was more he wanted to write about her. That being said I am no expert, certainly not a writer and I think it proves Nutall's mastery of writing in this genre that even his less impressive work is still quite interesting. I eagerly await the next book to get audibled (I am so over reading it for myself) as it looks like we get to go back to the Avalon mob

An entertaining story
A well narrated story set in a thought provoking universe. The charaters are somewhat stereotypical and simplistic.
