Delightful

For some reason, I had about three false starts with this book. I'd get a couple of chapters in, and give up. But I'm glad that I tried that one last time instead of hitting the "refund" button.
By far, my favourite character is Gemma. She is hilarious and Gerri Halligan delivers her perfectly. Lily (Gemma's mortal enemy) had a different perspective, interesting and sometimes amusing story however her character was a little flakey and a bit too wishy washy for me to warm to. That said, it was a good extension to, and additional layer to Gemma's story.
Whilst I liked JoJo's strong, kind character, Gerri does not do American accents well, and I eventually realised that this was what was causing me to struggle completing the book.
Once I figured this out, I was able to actively overcome not liking the accent, and enjoy the story.
Gerri Halligan also does a great job of representing male characters as lovable but bumbling "eejits" and Gemma's dad, Owen and Anton all made me laugh out in many parts.
Do yourself a favour and listen to this book.

Pleasant story

A nice light story. Easy listening.
A bit predictable but not annoyingly so.
Not insightful and no characters I wanted to be or meet but quite fun all the same.

Not as good as the author's other books

I found this quite disappointing and very unlike all the other Marian Keys books I've read. The majority of the first third of the book was just emails between people being read, including the "to" and "from" email addresses every single time and it was really annoying. There were three separate storylines which did intersect but only barely so it was quite an uncohesive book.

Entertaining!

I've always loved Marian Keyes for her character & relationship development, her ability to make me laugh out loud, and the way she makes her characters so imperfect and relatable. The narration was great, apart from the bit where the Scottish guys sounded Irish haha. Definitely recommend this one if you're looking for something fun & entertaining but heartfelt.

Thoroughly enjoyed every minute

Loved this book, about 3 women who become connected to one another, each from different worlds , each paving a new way in the world.

Thoroughly enjoyed listening to this!

Loved listening to the narrator tell this complex tale of lives that intertwined with each other and the literary world.

My heart ached for the characters at certain points and this is what life throws our way.
Great read as always with Ms Keyes 😍

Absolute stitches!

Brilliantly written, adored the tales and the 3 POV’s. I must’ve looked like a proper loon laughing out loud on the train while listening to this one, but truly, this one is a cracker. Marian is the knees of bees and Geri’s narration is sterling. The message? Life is swings & roundabouts - something that all of us need to hear from time to time. Thanks Marian, you’re gas & my forever favourite.

Not one of the best

Love Marian Keys but this is not one of my favourites . Maybe because of found one, Lily, of the characters soo boring and the narrators accent of Jo Jo so ridiculous
Otherwise enjoyable but not one of my favourites
