About this listen
The New York Times best-selling author of The Girl Who Knew Too Much sweeps readers back to 1930s California where even the brightest razzle dazzle can't always hide the darkest secrets.
Author Amanda Quick returns to the exclusive seaside community of Burning Cove, where more than one person with a dark past has gone to reinvent themselves. But some secrets are just too deadly to stay hidden, and some pasts can never stay buried.

Another Excellent Story Set in Burning Cove
Amanda Quick always dishes up interesting stories and details to all of the components are dealt with in time. It’s so much quicker to listen to stories than to read them myself because I can do other things at the same time. I am thankful that there is such a great selection to choose from, and Amanda Quick’s in particular.

Okayish
An old fashioned style murder mystery, damsel in distress thing, with all the usual elements, but some unexpected spicy bits that seemed not to really belong here. Starts out good but begins to drag with too much talk, talk, talk to tie it all up. The narrator gets less annoying as she warms to the task. Okay if you want to fill in some lazy time but not really a ‘page turner’ at any stretch. This author hopefully improved with so many novels to her name.
