About this listen
Barren, unwanted - a lot of omegas would have given up. But not Holland. Tired of living down to others' opinions, he reaches for something more and seduces the new alpha, only to fall so far in love he can’t see the moon for the trees.
Quin’s ghosts won’t leave him alone. He lives like a ghost himself, but Holland’s shining light gives him courage to reach for healing and, maybe, a family. Except, Holland has his own unhealed wounds, and he refuses to mate, until disaster in another pack reminds them both how fragile life can be.
From that disaster arises a new determination, and Quin and Holland set out to change their world. And through it all, the secret of the true omega begins to unveil itself, bringing hope and fear in its wake.
This story is full of love and family, disaster and triumph.

Another strong story in this incredible series by Ann- Katrin Byrde
I had read the complete series and am now part way through the audible versions. I am in awe of the way Byrde has built her alternate shifter world; the complexity of its overall structure, the carefully nuanced and continually growing characters, the ongoing development of the underlying story. This particular book of the series is a key turning point in the ultimate direction of the overall plot. I have laughed and cried with her protagonists in each of the preceding books but having inadvertently read and listened to Sanctuary beforehand which highlighted Holland’s repudiation as a mate, his growth and ownership of his omega status really demonstrated Byrde’s skill with characterisation. Nick Russo is to be congratulated as his pitch perfection narration ably conveys the author’s intent and the subtlety of her characters.
