About this listen

He’ll watch you.
A lawyer is found dead at sunrise on a lonely clifftop at Dunnet Head on the northernmost tip of Scotland. It was supposed to be his honeymoon, but now his wife will never see him again.

He’ll hunt you.
The case is linked to several mysterious deaths, including the murder of the lawyer’s last client – Scotland’s most notorious criminal… who had just walked free. DS Max Craigie knows this can only mean one thing: they have a vigilante serial killer on their hands.

He’ll leave you to die.
But this time the killer isn’t on the run; he’s on the investigation team. And the rules are different when the murderer is this close to home.

He knows their weaknesses, knows how to stay hidden, and he thinks he’s above the law…

Max, Janie and Ross return in the latest gripping novel in this explosive Scottish crime series. Fans of Ian Rankin, Stuart MacBride and Marion Todd will love The Night Watch!

What a story!

Well narrated, perfect characters, intriguing story until the end. It’s easy to see that it’s informed by someone who knows police work.

Another wonderful Scottish mystery

I have always been a fan of JDKirk (author). Neil Lancaster has joined him as a writer of enjoyable listening. Angus King is the narrator of both authors and as there are only a finite number of character voices Angus can do, you have to concentrate to not confuse the characters from each writer. The same voice in each story has a different name. No matter really, it’s a great listen.

Wow!

More please Neil Lancaster and please you too Angus King. Narration really brings this well constructed and tightly written story alive. I love Max as a character and Ross is perfect. The team is fabulous. As I said, more please!

Last in Trio of books

I really enjoyed this collection of three books by Neil Lancaster, all narrated so professionally by Angus King.
You know what it's like when you try a new author ....a bit daunting!
Well this author is great. His own professional experience in policing and security all shine through in the didactic prose as we go through the three stories. I couldn't put them down, and now I'm lost for a new book!!
One little niggle ... I enjoy Angus King's reading, and accept you can only voice so many characters. But having listened to him before, I found it hard not to mistake a character in one book with a character in another series. Both great series and authors, but a little confusing when a 'voice' turns up out of the blue in another book!
Cheers

Airport novel

Ok but not enough meat on the bones. Possibly over edited.
Not worth a credit but not terrible
