Let down by narration
I always enjoy Jane Casey's novels but this one was not as good as her others. The narrator did not work for me, I found the voices very distracting and unappealing.

Jane Casey never disappoints
I couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed when I saw that Jane Casey’s new book was a standalone novel and not the next book in the Maeve Kerrigan series that I’ve been hanging out for. But this was a brilliant book as good as any of her others and I’m sad I got through it far too quickly!

Oh dear
The main protagonist came across as reckless and self centered. While I thoroughly enjoy the author’s later police procedurals, this one has the police behaving very improbably. They fall all over themselves to tell the protagonist everything she wants to know, and even let her interview one of the suspects. Improbable and frustrating. The narrator was not to my taste
