About this listen
My name is John, I’m an alcoholic.
At the age of 52, I checked myself into rehab. 21 days. This book is an honest account of my experience; the triumphs, the setbacks, the profound connections, the trials endured, the solace found in Faith, and ultimately the reclamation of my life.
In my early teenage years, alcohol found its way into my life; initially serving as a source of enjoyment among friends. As time progressed, weekend binges became the norm, reserved only for those days, or so I believed. But gradually, the habit seeped into weekdays, transforming from a social activity to a solitary refuge.
Before I knew it, alcohol became an essential part of my daily existence; a regimented routine I couldn't escape. For a long while, I concealed my struggle, confiding in only a few close friends and family who witnessed its grip on me.
Maintaining a good job, a solid marriage, and cherished friendships, I strived to shield them from my addiction.
Yet the insidious hold of my dependency grew stronger, invading and destroying other aspects of my life. Alone, I failed to overcome it. I acknowledged that I required more than my own efforts could provide.
At the age of 52, I checked myself into rehab. 21 days. This book is an honest account of my experience; the triumphs, the setbacks, the profound connections, the trials endured, the solace found in faith, and ultimately the reclamation of my life.
