About this listen
Education is in bad shape in America and beyond today. It’s obvious. Everyone perceives it. Something is going badly wrong in our schools. Our children aren’t learning as they should be. Their mastery of core academic curriculum like reading, writing, history, mathematics, science, and civics has declined to crisis levels and shows no signs of improvement. Meanwhile, they’re all learning to be activists, turning their backs on their nations, societies, and even their parents and religions. Instead of correcting course, school curricula keep veering into “social and emotional learning (SEL),” Critical Race Theory, cultural competence, culturally relevant education, Queer Theory, Radical Gender Theory, Comprehensive Sexuality Education, decolonizing the curriculum, and even drag queens.
What’s going on? The answer is simple. Their education has been stolen from them. Activists have spent the last 40 to 50 years taking over education and transforming it into something different: not mere indoctrination but brainwashing. The transformation of education from education to neo-Marxist thought reform follows significantly from the work of a Brazilian Marxist by the name of Paulo Freire, who is little-known outside of South America and colleges of education. In this book, The Marxification of Education, James Lindsay, founder of New Discourses, breaks down the contents and impact of Freire’s disastrous work so that you can understand it and, hopefully, put a stop to it.
James Lindsay is an author, internationally recognized speaker, and the founder and president of New Discourses. He is best known for his relentless criticism of "Woke" ideology, the now-famous Grievance Studies Affair, and his best-selling books including Race Marxism and Cynical Theories, which has been translated into over a dozen languages. In addition to writing and speaking, Lindsay is the voice of the New Discourses Podcast and has been a guest on prominent media outlets including The Joe Rogan Experience, Glenn Beck, Fox News, and NPR.

Like getting glasses you didn't know you needed
This audio book is read well and clearly. The author helps convey any ambiguity in the text with inflection and emphasis in his voice. So the audiobook is justified.
Content wise, this book is extremely important to read for anyone confused about the language changes and coded phrases surrounding education. Where they have come from and what they mean.
In a nutshell, Marxists have seized control of the institution that reproduces culture (the education system) and is attempting to force a contrived cultural hegemony through encoding spiritual, psychological and emotional elements into education practice.
A proverbial Trojan Horse or it could be seen as a mind virus.

Worthy of your time
With the standards of schools achieving students equipped with basic skills. Seeming to be increasingly of concern to parents and others. Mr Lindsay's book provides a previously unstated and well reasoned insight into not only the underlying failure of schools but also the increasing failing of Western society.

Indoctrination and De-ecucatiin in Disguise
Ingeniously and militarily strategic implemented and disguised as education time.
It's an eye opener on how Marxist ideas can be infiltratrd into the education system. The why remains a mystery though.
The narrators voice feels monotonous at time, but the information is more important :)
