About this listen
"Daddy has been lying."
Faye Townsend has planned the perfect summer trip for her family. But returning to the small seaside town her husband grew up in does not go to plan - the rain pours, and the long days become stifling. And then the unthinkable happens....
Her husband, Jake, and her six-year-old son, Dylan, go for an early morning walk along the beautiful, windswept clifftops. They don’t come back.
As the hours tick by, Dylan’s red baseball cap is found on the beach, and Faye finds herself being questioned by the police. They want to know everything about the man she married - is Faye ready to face her husband’s dark past? Or will she have to confront her own secrets first?
And just how far will a mother go to save her only child?
From the million-copy best-selling author of The Secret Mother and The Perfect Family, this utterly gripping psychological thriller will make you gasp out loud as you race toward the unforgettable twist. If you loved The Girl on the Train and The Wife Before You this book is for you.

Can’t get enough of Shalini Boland’s Books
Once again Shalini Bolabd has written a complete page turner.
There are so many twists and turns and clues that are written so subtly that they are easily overlooked.
Love how her books are easy reading but still un-put-downable and this one does not disappoint.
It starts with 2 x related couples (Jake & Faye, Laney & Tom - Laney and Jake are sister/brother) with their children on a birthday weekend in the town where Laney & Jake grew up
What should have been a fun time Ends in disaster when Jake and his son go missing.
Highly recommend this book and all of Shalini Boland’s books if you want a fast pace page turner.
The audible is great as well.

Very easy to read and hard to put down. But a bit predictable and simple.

Good, not great
Overall an interesting concept for a storyline, however I wouldn't say it was gripping or thrilling or overly intriguing. I think it is a little far fetched to believe this was a viable long term solution to her 'problem 'or even plausible. Easy to listen to though, which is probably the best aspect of this audiobook.
