Etta's happy with her simple life in the mill, but when her aunt passes and leaves her a very peculiar cat, everything goes awry. Now, determined to find her place in the world, Etta's learning to hunt, having audiences with a king, and falling for a man who's keeping something from her.
Beau's happy at sea until his father passes and leaves him with an odd last request. Now he's setting up shop in a small town, searching for ogres, and, inconveniently, falling for the miller's sister - who just happens to be taken with someone else.
It soon becomes clear that if Etta and Beau want to get anywhere, they'll need not only each other's help, but the cat's as well. But putting your trust in a feline is difficult, especially when you're not exactly sure what it is he has planned....

Fairy tale!
Okay so I don't know why I've never actually heard the puss in boots story, but I love me a talking cat. It's a cute retelling. I'm not sure how she made it an adult story, but somehow I didn't feel like I was being told a kids fairy tale. That said, it's all very clean (no "mature content" so that Audible disclaimer is inaccurate). Both narrators were quality, though the man sounded at least twenty years older than the characters. Bugbear that doublets and the concept of an "ego" are anathema even in a fairy world. Worth a listen, I wish the others were also available on audible. (though tbh I probably wouldn't spend a credit on them)

Fun listen
easy listening. good chill book. have enjoyed relating all these books back to the known tales.

Adorable retelling of a classic fairytale
A lovely reimagining of Puss in Boots. Narrated well with a romance plot incorporated. The teenage sister of the village miller is astonished to inherit her eccentric aunt’s cat. There is more to Puss than she expected!
