The Man Who Melted by Jack Dann
What made the experience of listening to The Man Who Melted the most enjoyable?
The Man Who Melted explores themes of love and redemption in a 22nd century world fractured by a mass telepathic 'Scream' which can destroy or send the minds of those affected into limbo. Protagonist Raymond Mantle searches for his lost love Josiane and his past.
What other book might you compare The Man Who Melted to, and why?
I'd compare it to Grahame Greene's 'The Third Man' for its use of suspense, setting and atmosphere.
What does Kevin T. Collins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Kevin T. Collins' dramatisation of the characters creates a sense of a world of complex relationships. His narration captures the intensity of Dann's highly descriptive style.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I found that I wanted to immerse myself in it but also enjoyed taking time to stop and re-listen to sections where the ideas were interesting.

A modern science fiction classic concerned with human beings in a science fictional world trying to make sense of the madness around and within them rather than just hardware and explosions.
