About this listen
RITA finalist Julie Klassen has earned numerous awards for her popular historical romance novels. In The Maid of Fairbourne Hall, pampered Margaret Macy flees her home in London to avoid marrying a dishonorable man. Now, with no money and no place to stay, Margaret does the unthinkable: she takes a job as a housemaid in the home of two brothers - both of whom are former suitors. As an “invisible” observer, Margaret realizes she may have misjudged one brother and wonders if it’s too late to win his admiration.

a Cinderella story with a twist
I am a Julie Klassen fan and this book doesn't disappoint. it does end rather suddenly, no epilogue to wrap up some of the other beloved characters unfortunately.
As always Elizabeth Jasicki does an excellent job narrating. 🥰🥰

Loved it!
I’m officially a huge fan of Julie Klassen. Her stories are unique, well-researched, and masterfully written and edited. As with her other books I’ve now binged in succession and thoroughly enjoyed, this has an interesting storyline, more captivating than the Audible blurb implies. Again, I love the insights provided at the start of each chapter, and gaining a deeper perspective of those living (and serving) “downstairs”. It was good to see entitled Margaret eventually evolve into a better and more likeable person through her experience working as ‘Nora’ and living amongst those who would normally serve her. Narration was excellent. I thoroughly recommend,

Good story
Good story, but it left a few loose ends with a few of the suv-characters for the reader to surmise the outcome.

From Riches to Rags-a good story about humility.
The way women weee treated back in that time makes me glad that I don’t have to deal with the chores that repeated day after day. Thank goodness not all men were so self centred and heartless. However, many females survived through enduring much in those times. It was great to listen to the HEAfter at the end of the reading.

Julie Klassen the author, has a wonderful way with words. She incorporates love, romance and history into all her stories with captivating scenes. Her references to the style of dresses and practices demanded on those times are truly Inspirational.

Great storyline
Love this book. Julie Klasson has a wonderful way of bringing the characters to life and bringing the reader along the journey. I was sad to leave Margaret and Jonathan once the story ended.
