About this listen

Justin Howley never knew there were others like him—others who could do magic.

When a traveling magic show comes to town, their tricks are simply too amazing to be illusions. Justin is swept up in the excitement of the show, and in particular the teleporting girl. Despite being the type to never leave his house, he wants to join this traveling group of mages.

There’s only one problem. Sam Higgins, the leader of the show, has a dark secret. A wizard from his past has returned, and he and his followers are after something of Sam’s—an amulet that holds great power. Sam is reluctant to tell Justin the full story when asked, so Justin doesn’t recognize what’s at stake until it’s too late.

When Justin’s carelessness causes Sam to be trapped inside the amulet, the wizard sees a grand opportunity to both have the power he seeks, and keep Sam imprisoned. The wizard will kill anyone who stands in his way, but Justin is equally determined to fix his mistake and protect his new friends as they travel to find an old ally of Sam’s who they hope can help them, all while trying to stay one step ahead of the wizard.
