A realistic romance, not a fantasy one.

I just loved the author's "Our Stop' as it held a little angst and laughter, a very sweet and fancuful romance. A Rom-Com of the Nora Ephron ilk, so I was disappointed that this story soon started to sound very realistic and no 'cute meet' to be found. Bugger.
However, I did enjoy seeing the characters giving each other new strengths and could identify with them across the book.
I enjoyed their journey to Margaret River, as I am a frequent visitor to the region, have spent most of my youth there being in the surfing fraternity in the 70's and 80's. I grew up in Perth and lived 46 years there. Funnily, the visit to Sydney was almost exactly the holiday we booked just before Covid first visited and we had to cancel. A good story, well written and perfectly narrated. A nice counselling session was sub-written underneath the entire story, In a good way, and it was romantic too. 5 stars.

Light and enjoyable

This was a good light read. Would be a great holiday book.
I didn’t enjoy the narration as much, the voice had a slightly annoying pitch.
Certainly recommend for a relaxing and enjoyable reading

Fun!

This was fun but I was never quite convinced of Annie's job. It didn't seem to me to match her character. I also had trouble wrapping my head around a woman of 32 having a sister of 13 with no intervening siblings and no step-parent or adoption involved. It suggests three possibilities to me - Annie was an early accident, Freddie was a late accident... or Annie HAD an accident. However, the matter wasn't dealt with at all... not even by a throwaway line.

The cancelled wedding and taking the honeymoon alone anyway reminded me of Honey and the Harvest Hob, (not on Audible) although the books aren't much alike in other ways.

Now that's out of my system... I enjoyed the bits set in Australia, and Annie's relationship with her friends and her sister (however she got to have one so young) and Patrick was a nice character. The book fell into three acts, which I found interesting too.

Easy weekender

Nice, easy listen despite the predictable ending.
As an Australian, the narrators accent needs some work 😂
