Easter 1976. nothing happens. I kept on listening expecting some great event but it never comes.

This book is so slow it made my ears bleed. There is no atmosphere, or tension or even a plot or any actual conflict to be resolved. Characters are one dimensional and dull, and since there is no conflict there is never anything at stake, there’s nothing to lose and there’s no skin in the game. This book is a terrible waste of time.

Struggled to get past the Mother, who was controlling and cruel. I thought it had to get better, as the write up for it sounded amazing. Was just disappointed.
