About this listen

The brilliant new psychological thriller from bestseller Valerie Keogh.

She’s in your home....

Leigh Simons can’t say for sure what made her do it. A moment of madness, perhaps, but when the young, loud and gorgeous waitress at her favorite coffee shop reveals she is homeless, Leigh offers her the empty room in her house.

In your head....

Gina is the perfect lodger; Leigh, lonely and frustrated with her life, becomes infatuated with the woman—her boldness, her zeal. If only Leigh could be more like Gina....

And missing without trace.

So when Leigh returns from a work trip she’s shocked to find Gina missing. Where could the young woman have gone...and why?

Leigh fears that something terrible has happened—why else would Gina leave her?

But as she sets out to find her missing lodger, what Leigh discovers changes everything she knows about Gina...and her own life, too.

Don't miss the brand new thriller by Valerie Keogh. Perfect for fans of Sue Watson, Shalini Boland and K.L. Slater.

Critic Reviews

"A wonderful book, I can’t rate this one highly enough. If only there were ten stars, it’s that good. Valerie Keogh is a master story-teller, and this is a masterful performance." (Anita Waller, bestselling author)

Fabulous!

Would highly recommend, great twist at the end. Wasn’t sure quite where it was going until it got there!

He said, she said

For some bizarre reason the narrator said 'he' instead of 'she' multiple times. Not sure if the book was riddled with typos? Confusing and distracting but the story was engrossing.

Another Fabulous book by Valerie Keogh

Ms Keogh does it again, and this is just as good if not better than the last.

The authors books are always filled with "that would never happen" thoughts but isn't that the point.. It's entertainment.

I find this authors books always have a hero or heroine quite often one of each, a love story, gruesome murder scenes and a very attractive cast, which lets your imagination run wild.

So much better than television as you decide the scenes and what the sinister line of " his crooked mouth became filled with hatred" look like.

If you love a book of suspense, an always handsome police officer, At least 1 gruesome death scene and a myriad of murders and crimes, let yourself be taken on a wild goose chase that will cause you to binge listen, this is the book for you. The twists and turns in this novel will keep you guessing, right until the very end.

good story terrible narrator

I enjoyed the story line....believable...but the narrator was sooooo annoying...couldn't manage to say 'she' very hard to follow, 'he said he said so he said....only occasionally managed to get 'she' out. Several errors in reading and repeats.
Will be avoiding **** in future!

Great read

Loved the twists and fast pace. Nice that there was no boring back story. Not too many characters to confuse or drag out the plot. Another splendid book by Valerie Keoghan. My new favourite Author.

Laborious, convoluted, dull

This was a tedious listen. Numerous detailed descriptions of interactions with characters that had no relevance to the plot. Numerous detailed descriptions of the quiches and pies the main character bought for dinner. The character seemed to change her opinion constantly it was hard to go along with it. I regret purchasing it.
