About this listen
The Lily and the Crown is a lesbian scifi romance about daring to risk your heart with someone you shouldn’t.
Ariana “Ari” Geiker lives an isolated life on an imperial space station commanded by her father. The skilled, young botanist rarely leaves her living quarters, where she maintains an elaborate garden. When an imperious older woman is captured from a pirate ship and given to her as a slave, Ariana’s perfectly ordered life is thrown into chaos. Her nameless slave is watchful, intelligent, dangerous, and sexy, and seems to know an awful lot about tactics, star charts, and the dread, marauding pirate queen, Mir.
What happens when the slave also reveals an expertise in seduction to her innocent mistress?

Don’t underestimate Ari!
This book has been on my TBR list for a while now. I couldn’t stop listening . Ari is not ditsy. She is very intelligent but with her sheltered life a little naive. Such a great listen. I had to do it again.
Always love listening to Angela Dawe and now a bigger fan of Roslyn Sinclair

Engaging story with fantastic spice!
Assistant (no spoilers) was delicious from her first words. The story didn’t feel rushed, and the spice was incredibly hot. Will definitely listen again!

Totally enthralling
Not usually a reader of science fiction but this was enthralling. Loved the characters and the story. It's the sort of story you keep thinking about long after you've come to the end. Satisfying ending too. Wonderful narration only added to the audio book.

Outstanding
The narrator has serious acting skills, and has really up levelled an already excellent book. The voice of Ari is outstanding and really draws more to the character than just the written words. Hard to picture Assistant as being voiced by the same person really, sexy, hardened and brusque. Great work! Hearing the book the 2nd time…. even better.

Everyone is right, Ari is a bit of an idiot lol
This was well written and enjoyable. The main character being a ditz is true but because the book is from her perspective I think it adds rather than subtracts. Kind of like how in theatrical plays or movies the audience knows more than the characters so you can see what's coming and relish in it. Definitely a recommendation :)

Original & Entertaining Story
I wasn’t sure from the blurb whether this would be my sort of book or what to expect but I’m glad I took the chance on this.
Arianna is a young shy botanist preferring to spend her time alone tending to her plants, when her life is thrown into turmoil by the arrival of Assistant, who is given to her as a slave by her father.
Although it’s quite predictable early on as to who Assistant really is, I enjoyed the development of the relationship between the two and the reliance on each other even though Arianna’s naivety frustrated me at times.
The story is told from Arianna’s POV which really works as her simplicity and openness to new experiences makes this a refreshing read.
Overall, original and entertaining, with a great performance.

inter stella
I really enjoyed this, the performance was brilliant, the story was enhanced by it.
I felt like it was medieval space, maybe a little predictable but extremely enjoyably so

Great book
Really enjoyed this book! The relationship between the two characters starts on quite early in the book which is a lot better than having to wait until the end. I think this might be classed as Sci fi but I wouldn't say it feels that way at all.
