About this listen
A dark and brilliant new stand-alone thriller from a rising star in the crime genre.
He is her husband. She is his captive.
Her husband calls her Jane. That is not her name.
She lives in a small farm cottage, surrounded by vast, open fields. Everywhere she looks, there is space. But she is trapped. No one knows how she got to the UK: no one knows she is there. Visitors rarely come to the farm; if they do, she is never seen.
Her husband records her every movement during the day. If he doesn't like what he sees, she is punished.
For a long time, escape seemed impossible. But now, something has changed. She has a reason to live and a reason to fight.
Now, she is watching him and waiting....

Worth a listen, but there are holes.
Like many other of these stories, there is a bit too much build-up and scene-setting at the start of the book. But once your get thru that things gets more interesting. There are holes in the plot and huge frustration about some of the main protagonist's actions but this was partly because I was so invested in the story. Imaging other ways you would have done things is fun.

At best, fine.
Really dull characters. Unbelievably slow story. I kept waiting for that thing that would draw me to keep listening and it just never came.
I wanted this to be so good, but it just isn’t.

Very slow
The beginning was very slow, I almost gave up listening. Felt like there wasn't anything gripping keeping me hooked. There is 1 plot twist that I didn't expect but that was all
