About this listen
The unabridged, digital audiobook edition of Eoin Colfer’s Artemis Fowl and the Last Guardian, the unbelievable finale to the multi award-winning Artemis Fowl series. Read by the actor Nathaniel Parker.
Is this Armageddon for the Artemis Fowl?
Opal Koboi, power-crazed pixie, is plotting to exterminate mankind and become fairy queen. If she succeeds, the spirits of long-dead fairy warriors will rise from the earth, inhabit the nearest available bodies and wreak mass destruction. But what happens if those nearest bodies include crows, or deer, or badgers - or two curious little boys by the names of Myles and Beckett Fowl?
Yes, it’s true. Criminal mastermind Artemis Fowl’s four-year-old brothers could be involved in destroying the human race. Can Artemis and Captain Holly Short of the Lower Elements Police stop Opal and prevent the end of the world?

Excellent Narration
Sad to see this series end, at least for Artemis, but Nathaniel Parker is the best audiobook narrator I have ever heard. His incredible voice talent and delivery make this story come alive.

Great finale to a wonderful series
Thank you for entertaining our family over the last few months. It took a while to get used to the new narrator. However once we did, the narration was excellent.

Loved it
What made the experience of listening to The Last Guardian: Artemis Fowl, Book 8 the most enjoyable?
Just being able to take it with me and listen to it was great.
Who was your favorite character and why?
It's hard to have a favorite. It was like listening to your favorite band get back together. All of them have a little something that makes them special
Have you listened to any of Nathaniel Parker’s other performances? How does this one compare?
No I haven't, though I like the way he read. He was easy to listen to and I enjoyed his different character voices
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No. I knew that I wouldn't be able to. Life is a bit busy and knew I would need to stop and start. I do though know that this is one that I will listen on long road trips with the family as they have listened to Artimes Folwer CD's in the past

don't like that they changed the narrator
narrator isn't bad, it's just jarring that they changed who was reading it for the last book

A fitting ending for such a brilliant book series
This book had the classic Artemis fowl feel with something more as well we get to see the classic shenanigans holy Artemis mulch and butler get up to while also seeing how the culmination of how they have changed over the series this book is my second favour book in the series (the first being the first book) and I would highly recommend it to any fowl fans of really anyone who is in need of a exiting heartfelt novel

Welcome to City Wok
It's fine. Not great, but not bad. if you don't listen to this one you're not missing out on much, and if you do listen to it (And have listened to all the other books involving Opal Kobi on audible), try to enjoy Kobi's new voice as she welcomes you to City Wok.

I just can't go higher
There is nothing wrong with the story. The final to an excellent journey of our friends. The issue is the narrator, nothing wrong with him as a narrator himself but why on Earth would you change the narrator for the last book after having O'Brian do all off the previous entries. it was so damn jarring and very hard to enjoy the start of the book

Change of narrator is extremely jarring
Completely different interpretations of the characters, I really wish he wouldn’t do those accents.
Some actual decent foreshadowing in this one while still keeping the usual Fowlian flare.
This is more of the same, if you enjoyed earlier stories you’ll not be displeased.

I have enjoyed the entire story and loved it. Except this one in which they changed the narrator.
