Out of time and options, NASA turns to its last living astronaut - Commander Sally Jansen, who must lead a team of raw recruits on a mission to make First Contact.

But as the object reveals its secrets, Jansen and her crew find themselves in a desperate struggle for survival - against the cold vacuum of space, and something far, far worse . . .

Enjoyable read

I enjoyed this. It was a bit slow to get going, but the second half of the book was faster paced and filled with tension.
… ok, I have to whinge about this. There was a conversation were one of the characters described the fate of the Tasmanian aboriginals. It was a completely false and totally bizarre explanation. As a Tasmanian I was incredulous and completely removed from the story immersion.
