Publisher's Summary
Hugh Dunne, the Earl of Briarly, needs a wife - so his sister hands him a list of the very best young ladies on the market. And then, because he refuses to tear himself away from the stables where he trains Arabian racehorses, she invites all those ladies to a house party, along with some other bachelors, of course.
So who will Hugh choose? The Botticelli-esque, enchanting Gwendolyn? The outspoken, delightful Katherine? If he doesn't work fast, he'll lose those ladies to his closest friends, and then where will he look for a wife? Perhaps, just perhaps, toward a lady who's not on a market at all, and would require a great deal of persuading....

Not bad
Not the narrators best performance, but still amazing. The story line for me was a bit all over the place. Didn't enjoy it as much as the other Series.

A bit of fun - if you can endure the narration
You will have to suspend your modern day rational thinking about how relationships develop into marriage. I guess with any such novels of this period genre it's a given.
That said, the writing styles of the 3 contributing authors are complementary and make for seamless storytelling. It's nice to see the characters matched with partners best suited to their personalities.
Unfortunately, it often felt as if the narrator had recorded her lines by sentence rather than whole paragraphs with appropriate intonnation, so it sounded like she was making statements rather than telling a story. I had to tweak the speed of the narration at times to make it less distracting.

Too pedictable for my taste
A classical historical romance but a little too predictable and formulaic in content for my taste. The characterisations were a little flat and some of the descriptions rather laboured. One good point was the performance . The reading was flawless
