About this listen

When sun flares hit the Earth, intense heat, toxic radiation and flooding followed, wiping out much of the human race. Those who survived live in basic communities in the mountains, hunting for food.

For Mark and his friends, surviving is difficult, and then an enemy arrives, infecting people with a highly contagious virus. Thousands die, and the virus is spreading. Worse, it's mutating, and people are going crazy. It's up to Mark and his friends to find the enemy - and a cure - before the Flare infects them all.

Love it but am not ok

This shouldn’t be classified as a teen book I’m almost an adult and this series is amazing but messed up. This book had me crying on multiple occasions and straight up creeped out but I love it.

Great but not as good as the other ones

Really good book which tells you the background of the Flare and how it started. But it is not as good as the first three
And it was the same repetitive fighting

It made me really angry.

The Maze Runner series is very addictive, and this story made me cry out injustice! It is a fantastic roller coaster, though I would probably recommend reading this after the other books despite it being a prequel.

Not as good as the others in the series.

I love the rest in this series, but struggled to get through this one. Narration was good as always, the scenarios were a little lackluster.

Here's to Part 4!

While I agree that this book takes on a bit of a different approach to the first 3, I personally enjoyed this one almost as much!
It's great to see a different perspective on the flare-affected world James Dashner has so effectively procured. Has certainly answered a few questions leftover from finishing the trilogy.

Do not read this book after the others.

If you have read the first 3 published books before reading this one, it will be a let down sorry. This book simply didn't have the same appeal as the previous ones. The story was very slow to get started, the characters didn't draw you in and capture your attention. The author jumps around back and forward in the time line. I could accept it, IF this was the authors very first book. But after the other 3 were written very well ... This is a serious let down.

Expecting great things but disappointed.

Story seemed to drag, was very repetitive. Just seemed to be a lot of running, fighting and getting attacked, needed more story in-between.
