About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

We live under an ideology that preys on every aspect of our lives: our education and our jobs; our healthcare and our leisure; our relationships and our mental wellbeing; even the planet we inhabit – the very air we breathe. So pervasive has it become that, for most people, it has no name. It seems unavoidable, like a natural law.

But trace it back to its roots, and we discover that it is neither inevitable nor immutable. It was conceived, propagated, and then concealed by the powerful few. It is time to bring it into the light - and, in doing so, to find an alternative worth fighting for.

Neoliberalism. Do you know what it is?

Why do we tolerate the existing system

Of course the elite take every opportunity to take advantage of the people who are doing all the paddling.
They have the time to organise lobby groups and pay for representation to government, with the funds gained by exploitation of management, workers, slaves, and the peoples, and planets resources.
This book has switched my senses on, and according to this well structured tome, we only need 26 percent of people to read and recognise our situation.

The logic of the analysis of Neoliberalism.

This book should be read by everyone who is dissatisfied with the worldwide erosion of democracy while the rich get richer and the rest of us get poorer. A compelling analysis of the causes of the problems facing the world and some suggestions for fixing them.

Truly valuable. Crucial information.

I have known much of this before now. George and Peter have pulled a lot of modern economic history in to a single place to explain the downward spiral of our current political failure and blessedly a hint of they way out of it. Thanks!

The Invisible made Visible

A sobering summation of how a reckless and self serving group of uber rich took their world view underground with dire political, social and environmental consequences. A point of view well worth considering. Do we have time to arrest the slide. Listen and find out.
