Publisher's Summary
Introducing the new, unabridged version of The Infirmary by LJ Ross, the author of the international number one best-selling series, the DCI Ryan Mysteries.
There's a serial killer targeting the streets of Newcastle, seemingly picking his victims at random but subjecting them all to the same torturous end. When the chief inspector on the case goes missing, it falls on DCI Ryan to track down the man who is brutally murdering women and goading the police to 'catch me if you can'.
As everyone becomes a suspect, Ryan and his team get drawn further and further into the case, but for Ryan the nightmare gets closer to home than he could ever have imagined.

The story of the Hacker
This is actually the first book of the series, but that's okay. Still enjoyed it and it's great we now have that story in full. After listening to it, I went back and started listening to the series again.

The beginning explained ...
Loved going back to the beginning more fully. All the history had been referred to (kind of) but it was good to hear the whole story.

The hacker explained.
This really should be book 1. Not 11. However, still a great story apart from the getaway from the hospital. A bit silly to be able to get away. That aside. Enjoyed very much.

Unnecessary
I did not enjoy this book. At this stage in the series, I did not enjoy going back in time to go over the back story that I already heard a lot about in every previous book in great detail. I knew how deranged he was and how gruesome the murders were. I felt it was an old storyline and a bit too gruesome for my taste.

Confusing
Why is this listed as book 11 when it is set earlier in the series? Very annoying.

Horrible
Unnecessary glorification of a sick mind. Not worthy of you LJ Ross. You pushed it too far this time.
