About this listen
The Team: Financed by a billionaire philanthropist, this elite team - a soldier, an historian, a computer whiz, a weapons expert, and a thief - is tasked with finding the world's most legendary treasures.
The Mission: Fearing a German victory in WWI, the Romanian government signed a deal with Russia to protect the country's treasures. In 1916, two trains full of gold and the most precious possessions of the Romanian state - paintings, jewelry, and ancient artifacts - were sent to the underground vaults of the Kremlin. But in the turmoil of war, the Romanian treasure was scattered and lost.
The Prize: The collection is now valued at over $3.5 billion. Despite several attempts to find it, its location has remained a mystery... until now.

What horrible acting!
What disappointed you about The Hunters?
The acting was horrible. Every character sounded either whingy or like an absolute dope. I made it to chapter 8 before I couldn't stand it any further.
What will your next listen be?
Book 2 of Conn Iggulden's War Of The Roses
How could the performance have been better?
Every word was pronounced like the reader was completely suprised by what he was reading. Characters were are voiced in completely stereotyped ways.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Hunters?
Not sure as I couldn't get passed the acting.
Any additional comments?
I had high hopes for this book as I've heard great things about it, but due to Andy Caploe's reading I've had to stop. In time I'll give the book another shot by finding a physical copy and reading it on the train.
