too sexually explicit
a good read although far more sexually explicit than the previous books and I was disappointed with that to the point that I skipped lots of sections. previously I have always rated these book a 5 out of 5. not this time.

Disappointing end to brilliant series
I have read all the books in this series - and was sad but excited to see such a long book for the final in this epic. However the length is really driven by the fact that the book is two quite separate plot lines which loosely come together at the end for a bit.
The primary plot line is around a couple of the sub characters from previous series - so loosely linked to Peter and Rina. But it is quite a dark plot line and not the usual detective story we are used to. This plot line starts and ends the book - which seems out of place for the final Peter Decker and Rina Lazarus book.
The other plot line which occasionally pokes its head up in the book is the usual Rina and Peter storyline. But it is weak, has little suspense in it - and feels gratuitous to the story (ie as though it was added in so they could claim it was part is the series when it wasn’t really).
To be honest - as a devoted fan of the series, I’m not sure I would recommend it to another fan.
