About this listen
An utterly heartwarming love story that will make you laugh and cry, fans of The Flatshare, The Hating Game and movies like The Holiday will fall head over heels for The House Swap.
When Cassie and James find each other on a home swap website, it feels meant to be. City hotshot James needs a bolthole after a relationship goes sour, and Cassie needs to leave the comfort of her little island to research her new book. Soon, James is living in Cassie’s cute but ramshackle beachside cottage, and Cassie’s living in James’ London apartment. It’s the perfect solution. Except James didn’t imagine he’d be sharing his home with 11 chickens and three alpacas. And Cassie is less than impressed when James’ ex-girlfriend turns up at his door, demanding to know where he’s gone. The more Cassie and James talk, the more the tension between them mounts. But as the insults fly so do the sparks, and when the time finally comes to swap back, Cassie and James find they aren’t quite ready to give each other up.

Loved it!
Awesome feel good love story with engaging characters. I loved seeing Cassie triumph and Have a happy life after tragedy.

Great story, narrating a battle
I really enjoyed the narrative, it is sweet, unusual and humorous.
Whilst the narrator of James does a beautiful job, the narrator for Cassie is frustrating. Unsure if it is poor editing or the way it is read but the cadence is off. Full of pauses where they shouldn’t be, and missing pauses in moments like scene changes which throws you off as you listen.

Satisfying…loved it.
I loved this book, despite the female narrator’s tendency towards mispronunciation and sometimes halting style. The content itself was a warm, satisfying comfort read.

Great feel good story
Audible only samples the male narrators voice - which is really nice. 5/5 :-) however I agree with other reviews, the female narration was something I never got used to in a bad way 0/5. Story was really sweet and enjoyable so I listened to end but thought I should have read the book myself

A lovely story with performance of two halves.
Whilst the story is great, I am sorry to say that Fiona McNeill's performance is stilted and lacks flow. It is truly irritating.

migraine material
the female narrator should have ended her narrating career prior to have suffering a brain injury that prevented her from coherence or any capacity to pronounce words with a semblance articulation or punctuation or to give the listener any idea of the emphasised part of the story.
painful, miserable and pulled the pin after 40 minutes
