About this listen

Escape to Hotel Nantucket for a summer of sunshine, secrets and scandal...

Reeling from a bad break-up, Lizbet Keaton is desperately seeking a fresh start. When she's named the new general manager of the Hotel Nantucket, a Gilded Age gem whose glamour has been left to tarnish, she hopes that her local expertise and charismatic staff can transform the hotel's fortunes—and her own.

All she needs to do is win over their new billionaire owner from London, Xavier Darling—and the wildly popular Instagram influencer Shelly Carpenter, who can help put them back on the map. But behind the glossy façade, complete with wellness centre and celebrity chef-run restaurant, a perfect storm is brewing.

Hotel Nantucket can't seem to shake off the scandal of 1922, when a tragic fire killed nineteen-year-old chambermaid Grace Hadley—and the guests have complicated pasts of their own. With Grace gleefully haunting the halls, secrets among the staff, and Lizbet's own romantic uncertainty, there's going to be trouble in paradise...

Deliciously escapist, full of emotion, and with a dash of Roaring Twenties glamour, this is the perfect listen from the bestselling 'Queen of the Summer Novel' (People).

3.5 stars lovely light book perfect for holidays, Bookclub

Not a literary award winner but charming and easy to listen to. Characters were simple yet memorable which is unlike some convoluted stories. Perfect for a holiday read

An ensemble cast amazingly read by one very talented voice actor. Story is full of surprises.

Loved all the variety of characters

I truly enjoyed this book. Having the story with a history then a new beginning. I enjoyed the variety of characters and all their quirks. The scenery was described so beautifully that I wanted to go there. And an interesting ending where I wasn’t sure if it was going to end as I would have liked. Great narration

Awful beggars belief it made the NYT bestsellers listing

Absolutely awful couldn’t bear to finish it ……. Facile, badly written and who needs detailed descriptions of American food
