About this listen

Narrated by Ava Erickson, Tim Paige, and Aiden Snow in DUET narration!

I've been faithful long enough. I never claimed to be a good man, but I've always done what was expected of me. Find a nice girl. Get married. Have children. That was my duty as a good Christian man. And everything was going as planned when I met Briar. Beautiful. Charismatic. Sexy. But marriage is hard, and after seven years, I feel like I'm failing. Then, a figure from my past enters the picture.

Dean Sheridan is cocky and charming. When this twenty-six-year-old needs a place to stay, I should turn him away, especially after I notice the spark between him and my wife. But I don't. When I pressure him about his relationship with Briar, he does the last thing I expect. He dares me. He thinks he can take what's mine. And if it's a challenge he wants, its a challenge he'll get.

What started as a game becomes so much more. Between them. Between us. This isn't how normal couples behave. The games we're playing are dangerous. And the roles we're playing are far more. But God help me, I can't seem to stop. What we're doing is wrong, but it feels so right, and before long, I don't recognize the good husband I used to be.

For the most part this was good.

This was as hot as I expected it to be- Sara Cate has a reputation to uphold. It was parts within the storyline that annoyed me. The Catholic guilt has bitten these two hard and as much as Caleb is trying to get out from under his father, he still has a lot to unlearn. Briar needs to grow a backbone and stand up to her sister and mother but she truly struggles with this because of appearances. But she also lied to herself about why she was sleeping with Dean- don't tell me it wasn't to get back at Caleb getting a BJ, it 100% was, especially when she makes a comment later on - that it's her turn with Dean because Caleb was with him last night. Anyhoo, if you can get past these parts you'll probably enjoy the spice.
I'll be curious if Isaac/Theo gets a book, otherwise I'm not really interested in the rest of the family.

The narrators were brilliant, I loved all 3. And the collab was so well done it took me until nearly half way to realise that was what was going on.

A bit of an emotional roller coaster in the best possible way 💕

Another fabulous book by Sara Cate! I don’t think she can write a bad one 😅 I loved listening to it on audiobook (Anti-Hero is also fantastic on audiobook). The narrators Ava Erickson, Tim Paige & Aiden Snow were outstanding and I loved how they brought these complex characters to life.

I do have to admit I did struggle with the miscommunication vibes and just wished they’d talk to each other, but I know it plays a big role in relationship struggles for Caleb & Briar.

It was really emotional being there for each of their journeys; Briar’s as she struggled with conceiving/wanting another child, Caleb’s bi-awakening & letting go of his relationship with/influence of his father, and Dean learning that he can be loved for more than what he can do in the bedroom.
