Bettany Hughes has become my favourite historian with Dan Jones. And they both narrate their own stories very successfully. Bettany Hughes describes atmosphere beautifully, almost lyrical. You can almost sense, smell and hear the described scenarios. Enjoyed this book very much. And learned a lot too.
