Publisher's Summary

After a grisly murder in a shabby New York bookstore, Detective Callum Doyle starts receiving sinister phone calls. Doyle is told more deaths are planned but the caller will give him clues, on the condition that he keeps them to himself. As more vicious deaths follow, the pressure on Doyle to find a link becomes unbearable. Does he continue to gamble with people’s lives? Or should he sacrifice everything to defeat a ruthless and manipulative enemy?

Critic Reviews

"Recalls Harlan Coben – though for my money Jackson is the better writer." ( Guardian)

Great ending

I really love David Jackson story’s. I am a big fan of both his regular characters- in this case Cal Doyle. I found the story well paced and prepared to cause the listener some sadness.
One of the voices made me think of Troy McClure from the The Simpsons and kept expecting him to say “you might know me from books such as ...”
I really enjoyed the book however and can’t wait for the next David Jackson novel.
