Publisher's Summary

Gayle Windham, earl of Westhaven, is the first legitimate son and heir to the duke of Moreland. To escape his father's inexorable pressure to marry, he decides to spend the summer at his townhouse in London, where he finds himself intrigued by the secretive ways of his beautiful housekeeper.

Anna Seaton is a beautiful, talented, educated woman, which is why it is so puzzling to Gayle Windham that she works as his housekeeper. As the two draw closer and begin to lose their hearts to each other, Anna's secrets threaten to bring the earl's orderly life crashing down - and he doesn't know how he's going to protect her from the fallout.

Great up until Ch 17.

I really enjoyed the characters, plot and story progression until the moment Anna becomes emotionally obtuse with her rationale and annoyingly persists as such right up to the final chapter (pre-epilogue). Prior to that, I thought she was smart, protective, determined and strong. The Earl was always honest, open-minded and consistent with his behaviour, desire and love for Anna. I just wanted her to wake up to herself and smell the love. I did however finish the book as it was an interesting story.

A Must Listen

A must listen for those into regency romance with an interest in a storyline and not just sexual entanglements
Love the story - very well written, humorous characters, great storyline that keeps you wondering what will happen next and not 2nd guessing, research into era very well done and believable and excellently narrated. Well done James Langton.
Sex scenes are detailed but not overt or over-embellished
You will smile & laugh at the witty wording and be drawn into each characters' mood and existence throughout the oration and feel as though you know each one personally by the time you've finished
This definitely goes in my "impossible to put down" list
Heading off to check out the rest of Grace Burrowes, especially if narrated by James Langton, and anything else narrated by James
