About this listen
The BBC Radio full-cast fantasy adventures of a young wizard in The Fabled Lands.
When the Great Wizard sends young student sorcerer Arcos on a mission, neither of them realises quite how perilous a journey it will prove to be...
Around him, Arcos has only a small band of friends and allies, including Kadar, a one-time friend of Arcos's father. Between their rag-tag group and their goal are demons, Deadlands, and diabolical sorcerers, all of which are determined to keep Arcos from completing his task.
As he begins to examine the real cost of his journey - as well as the paths which have led him to such a deadly position - Arcos must ask: Can he harness the power of the Grimoire? Will he face the truth of his story? And who can he trust to escape the terrible danger they will eventually face?
Set in the legendary world of Jamie Thomson's fantasy fighting game books, The Fabled Lands, and written by Jamie and his brother Peter Thomson, The Heart of Hark'un stars Francis Thomson as Arcos, with Trevor Peacock (The Vicar of Dibley, Midsomer Murders), Liz Whiting (Peak Practice, The Two Ronnies) and Emma Fielding (Silk, EastEnders), and is perfect for adventure-seeking fans of Elvenquest and Tales from the Perilous Realm.
