About this listen

This workbook is more than just a writing guide—it's a roadmap to self-understanding and personal growth. Turn your memories into memoir, your pain into prose, and your experiences into a testament of resilience. Your story matters—it's time to tell it.

In this compassionate and practical guide, Sarah Small, lawyer, author and memoirist, leads you on a profound journey of self-discovery and healing through the art of memoir writing. Drawing from her own experiences of writing her story of trauma and resilience, Sarah provides a structured approach to help you:

• Excavate meaningful memories and confront difficult truths

• Develop your unique voice and narrative style

• Transform raw experiences into compelling prose

• Navigate the emotional challenges of revisiting your past

• Discover the therapeutic benefits of sharing your story

Whether you're a seasoned writer or putting pen to paper for the first time, "The Healing Memoir Workbook" offers the tools and support you need to craft your life story. Along the way, you'll not only create a meaningful piece of literature but also embark on a journey of healing, acceptance, and empowerment.

About the Author

Sarah Small wrote the first draft of her memoir, "A Sea of Lego & Lavender a memoir of love, madness and rising from the ashes," in one month’s time in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia on a writer’s retreat in 2013. It took just over ten years for her to get to a point of lasting reestablished mental health stability. She seized that moment to revise, finalize and share her story.

She hopes sharing her story will lessen the stigma of mental illness, lessen the mental health struggles of others, and improve mental health inpatient trauma-inducing treatment protocols. Sarah advocates for increasing empathy to restore patients’ dignity and autonomy especially during psychosis and crisis.
