About this listen
Little Mia Cooper's ability to see the dead made her an outcast in her hometown. Several years later, she has finally managed to blend in, but her hard-won peace is threatened by the arrival of a bumbling team of paranormal investigators. Mia is drawn in reluctantly as an advisor on what, at first, seems to be a fairly straightforward case, only to discover that the Hollow has much more in store for her. An ancient evil is rising in Cold Creek Hollow. What begins as a ghost hunt will become a fight for survival.

Scooby Doo!
I'm not sure if the narrators efforts with this book killed the story, or if the story was just awful to start with.
It had promise in the first few chapters, but then just went into utter drivel. Not scary or creepy at all, and the narrator clearly did not cotton on that it was supposed to be a horror/ghost story, simply reading it in the style of a Scooby Doo Episode! I totally expected an 'if it wasn't for those pesky kids' to pop up at any moment.
Characters were weak and unlikeable, with unrealistic reactions to the plot that was opening up to them, eg, your wife dies, but you hardly shed a tear and joke around with the heroine of the book, even flirt with her. The story was disjointed, and I kept having to rewind, thinking I had missed a few chapters, when in fact it was just a lot of jumping around in the storyline.
I got to the last hour of the book and felt I couldn't bear it anymore.
Possibly the worst audio book I've listened too so far!
