About this listen

Eight-year-old Barney is willing to accept that the ghost of his Great-Uncle Cole might wish to be friends with him, but his family are sceptical. However, some of his older relations admit that there does seem to be something special about the boy. Barney's sister, practical Tabitha, determines to solve the mystery - but it is Troy, the oldest of the children, who finds out what the truth really is....

A Classic!

I liked this book as a child; turns out it has aged really well! Still very enjoyable to revisit as an adult!
This is a real classic, from a celebrated New Zealand author - Margaret Mahy.
Performance also lovely, has a real joy of childhood to his tone.

PERFECT FOR NINE YEAR OLDS

This book was so amazing, I'm desperate for a sequel. It made me frustrated whenever I was told to stop listening to It! Best audio book I've EVER Heard! -Ava, 9 years

A lovely children's story

while aimed at older kids, the story is well written and keeps you guessing. It has the wonderment of childhood, the imaginative quality that we all wish we still had. I'm sure I'll be getting my nieces and nephews to read it when the time comes.

Interesting, Powerful and eye opener manuscript

A modern day miracle, this book I have to say really has got me, it was just so fascinating as we dive down the hole of mystery horror and courage, I recommend this book to people looking for a bit of horror but also a technical look on the world and a interesting idea for what and how haunting and ghosts work, over all I loved listening to it and really recommend it

One Irk

quite enjoyed it and I am an adult. the only irk I had was Tabatha.her personality or maybe the narrator was too much to often and suffocated the chapters in some cases.
